Astilbe - Saxifragaceae pictures
These Astilbe - Saxifragaceae pictures are from our garden. We took some plants from a friend's garden a few years ago and they've adapted well to the partially shaded and moist area of our garden. They grow from rhizomes and can become invasive so you need to divide them regularly. This plant's color is more like a pinkish lavender but they also come in pink, purple, red and white. Their fern like foilage makes for an attractive ground cover when not in bloom. Depending on the variety the astilbe can grow from 12 inches to 4 feet high.
