Cuphea 'Vermillionaire' (Large firecracker plant) picture
Above is a picture of Cuphea 'Vermillionaire' (Large firecracker plant) that was growing in a pot on our deck. A common name for this plant is cigar plant or firecracker plant. It has bright orange tubular flowers that hummingbirds love. It is both heat and drought tolerant. It is considered to be low maintenance. This brightly colored flower attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
