Dianthus picture
This Dianthus picture is from a container on our deck. These small flowers with brilliant colors look like miniature carnations. We cut back the previous year's growth in early Spring and deadhead new blooms when the flowers fade. Each stem usually has three buds on it so you have to be careful not to remove the new buds. This type of Dianthus blooms from Spring to the Fall.
