Purple Ramona clematis picture
This purple Ramona clematis picture came from a container on our deck. We purchased this plant a little over 2 years ago. The first year it grew great for about 4 or 5 weeks then it started to fade. We did a little research and found out that this type of clematis can get a fungus. The best thing to do is cut it back to the ground and then it may survive. We did and had just about given up on it coming back when late that Fall it started to grow again. This past year in late Spring it grew great and had some really nice large blooms. Later that Summer it bloomed again but these blooms were smaller. The last 2 years we planted small flowering plants in the container with it to keep the sun off the roots.
